How to play

  1. Choose a tier: Basic, Advanced, Expert or Laps.
  2. Answer questions as fast as you can. The timer is running, and you have 3 lives.
  3. Basic mixes addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Advanced adds fractions, BODMAS, time, measurement and money. Expert adds probability, word problems, primes, averages and patterns.
  4. In Laps mode you run 6 laps of 10 questions across all topics. Every lap is shorter than the last and you have 2 hearts per lap.
  5. Your score gets a rating at the end, from Keep Practising up to Legendary.

Maths skills it builds

  • Mental arithmetic speed
  • Number facts and times tables
  • Fractions and BODMAS
  • Time, money and measurement
  • Probability and averages
  • Staying accurate under time pressure

Why it works

Fluency comes from many short repetitions, and Time Skip is built for exactly that: a run takes a couple of minutes. The tiers let a child start with the four operations and move on to harder topics once the basics feel easy. The score gives children a number to beat, which makes them choose to practise again.

Questions parents ask

How long is one round of Time Skip?

Basic, Advanced and Expert rounds are timed sprints of about a minute and a half. Laps mode is longer: 6 laps with the first lasting 150 seconds and the last 40.

Is it too stressful for young children?

The clock adds excitement, not a pass or fail. Children can start on Basic, and failing just means playing again with fresh questions.

Can guests play?

Yes. Guests can play the Basic and Advanced tiers. Expert and Laps unlock when you sign up.

Which topics come up in Laps?

Laps draws from addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, BODMAS, probability and mixed everyday maths such as time and money.
