Maths Guru
An Ancient Indian Numbers Journey — for all primary learners
Designed to turn maths practice into an adventure your child will ask to play again.
Who is it for?
Maths Guru is designed for primary school children aged 5–11. Whether your child is just
starting to add single digits or is ready to tackle probability and word problems, the game meets them where
they are and builds from there.
Every world is carefully sequenced to align with the UK primary maths curriculum, so the practice your child
does in-game directly reinforces what they are learning in school.
Maths Topics Covered
Children journey through themed worlds, each focused on a core area of primary maths:
Addition
Building blocks of number sense — from single digits to multi-step sums.
Subtraction
Developing confidence with taking away, bridging and differences.
Multiplication
Times tables and beyond — fluency through repeated practice.
Division
Sharing equally, remainders and the link back to multiplication.
Fractions
Parts of a whole, equivalent fractions and simple operations.
Geometry
Shapes, angles, perimeter and area for the visual learner.
Probability
Chance, likelihood and data — making sense of an uncertain world.
Word Problems
Applying maths to real-life scenarios, building reading and reasoning together.
Time
Reading clocks, calculating durations and understanding the passage of time.
Measurements
Length, mass, volume and capacity — converting between units and comparing quantities.
Money
Counting coins, making change and solving everyday money problems.
Averages
Mean, median and mode — making sense of data sets and spotting trends.
Number Patterns
Sequences, rules and relationships — building the foundations of algebra.
Skip Counting & Place Value
Count in steps from ones to hundreds, then decode the true value of every digit up to ten thousands.
BODMAS / BIDMAS
Master the order of operations — brackets first, then multiply and divide, then add and subtract.
❄️
Negative Numbers
Explore the number line below zero — ordering negatives, temperature problems, and adding across zero.
⚖️
Decimals
Compare, round, and scale decimal numbers — including place value and multiplying by powers of 10.
💰
Percentages
Find percentages of amounts, calculate what percentage one number is of another, and apply increases and decreases.
🧵
Ratios & Proportions
Simplify ratios, scale them up, share quantities, and solve recipe problems using proportional reasoning.
🔢
Algebra
Solve one-step and two-step equations to find the unknown — building the bridge from arithmetic to algebra.
Two bonus Revision Islands bring earlier topics together, helping children make connections
across the curriculum.
New Challenge Modes
Maths Guru now features three exciting challenge modes that take practice to the next level:
Time Skip
A fast-paced sprint where the timer speeds up with every question — correct answers buy precious seconds back. Children learn to calculate under pressure, building the mental speed that carries directly into classroom tests and exams. Available across all 20 worlds.
Memory Dash
A flash-card mode where the question appears briefly, then disappears — and your child must answer from memory. Memory Dash strengthens working memory alongside maths skills, training children to hold numbers in their head and think independently. Short daily rounds with increasing challenge.
Arcade Walk — KenKen, Kakuro, Magic squares, Arrange numbers & Str8ts
Three classic logic puzzle games in one mode, each with three difficulty levels. Every puzzle generates a fresh challenge each time — developing logical thinking, number sense, and systematic reasoning.
KenKen — fill a grid so every row and column contains each number exactly once, then hit arithmetic cage targets using +, −, × or ÷.
Kakuro — fill runs of white cells so each run sums to its clue number, with no digit repeated within a run.
Str8ts — fill compartments with consecutive numbers (a "straight") while keeping every row and column free of duplicates. Black cells with clue numbers exclude that digit from the entire row and column, adding an extra layer of deduction.
Magic squares — fill compartments with numbers such that total of rows, columns and diagonals are same. No repeat of numbers allowed.
Arrange numbers — re-arrange the numbers in grid in ascending order with minimum number of moves.
Why Parents Love It
Builds Mental Maths Speed
Every question is timed. Children learn to calculate quickly and accurately — a
skill that carries over directly into the classroom and beyond.
Rooted in Ancient Indian Mathematics
The game draws inspiration from India's rich heritage, giving children
a sense of history and wonder around numbers.
Reward-Based Learning
Stars, XP, fire streaks and collectible items keep children intrinsically motivated.
Progress feels earned — not given — so confidence grows naturally.
230 Levels of Structured Practice
20 themed worlds × 10 core levels each, plus Time Skip, Memory Dash, and Arcade Walk (KenKen, Kakuro, Str8ts) challenge modes — unlocking in sequence so children master each topic before moving on. Questions are dynamically generated, meaning the game can produce over 3 million unique questions of scaffolded, curriculum-aligned practice.
Bonus Revision Rounds
Built-in revision islands revisit earlier topics at the perfect moment, reinforcing
long-term retention rather than short-term cramming.
11 Boss Battles for Deep Recall
After completing all 10 levels in a world, children unlock a Boss Battle — 20 rapid-fire questions requiring 80% accuracy. Each Boss Battle draws from the same dynamic pool, so children face fresh challenges every time they replay.
The Reward System
Research shows children learn best when they feel immediate, meaningful progress. Every correct
answer in Maths Guru builds towards multiple rewards:
Stars — earned for completing levels. Used to unlock new worlds and spend in the in-game
shop.
XP & Player Level — every correct answer earns experience points, giving a sense of
growing expertise.
Fire Streaks — consecutive correct answers build a streak that can be converted into
bonus stars. A powerful incentive to focus.
Collectible Items — weapons, armour, gems and rare items for each hero. Children spend
their earned stars in the shop, adding a strategic element.
2× Star Bonus Rounds — revision islands reward double stars, celebrating breadth of
knowledge.
No adverts. No in-app purchases.
Maths Guru is a passion project built
for the love of learning. Your child's progress is stored safely — there is nothing to buy and no distractions.
