Conquer the World: a maths adventure across 20 islands

Conquer the World is the main adventure in Maths Guru. Your child picks a hero, sails across a map of 20 themed islands and answers timed questions on each one, from addition and times tables to fractions, geometry, probability, percentages and algebra. Stars earned on one island unlock the next.

Conquer the World

How to play

  1. Pick a hero and open the island map. Small Town is the first world.
  2. Choose a level and answer the questions before each question timer runs out. You start every level with 3 hearts.
  3. Each level earns up to 3 stars depending on how many answers are right, plus XP and fire-streak bonuses for answering in a row.
  4. Spend stars in the shop on weapons, armour and battle animals that give power-ups such as extra hearts or slower timers.
  5. Finish every level in a world to unlock its Boss Battle. Answer at least 80% of the boss questions correctly to defeat the villain.

Maths skills it builds

  • Addition and subtraction
  • Multiplication and division
  • Fractions and decimals
  • Percentages and ratio
  • Geometry, time, money and measurement
  • Probability and averages
  • BODMAS and algebra

Why it works

Each island is one topic, so children practise a single skill until it is secure before the map moves on. Questions are generated fresh every time, so replaying a level is real practice rather than memorising answers. The year-group choice at sign-up sets the starting difficulty, and stars, streaks and boss battles give a clear reason to come back tomorrow.

Questions parents ask

What age is Conquer the World for?

It is made for children aged 5 to 11 (Years 1 to 6). Players pick a year group such as Years 1–2 or Years 4–6, and the questions start at that level.

Which maths topics are covered?

The 20 islands cover addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, percentages, ratio, geometry, time, money, measurement, probability, averages, negative numbers, BODMAS and algebra. Two bonus islands revise earlier topics and pay double stars.

Is it free to play?

Yes. Guests can try the first levels without an account, and signing up unlocks the full map and saves progress. There are no ads and no in-app purchases.

What happens if my child runs out of hearts?

The level ends and they return to the map to try again. Questions are new each time, so a second go is fresh practice.
